sQuid Payment System
The Bulmershe School is cashless for all transactions, whether that be school lunches, in the school shop, or when paying for trips.
When students start at Bulmershe, families should receive instructions on how to set up a sQuid Account, which is the biometric system we use, so that students can use their thumbprint in the canteen and parents can manage payments online.
Benefits
- More convenient; no need to worry about sending cash or cheques
- Students also don’t need to worry about losing cash in school
- The queue for food moves much faster
- View your child's transactions anywhere, at any time
- Ensure money is being spent on healthy school meals
- Auto top up payments for peace of mind that your account will never run out of funds
To buy food in the canteen, sQuid does require families to keep student’s accounts topped up – and it possible to set an automatic top up when accounts reach a certain level.
You can use sQuid on a computer: sQuid Website
or by downloading the app to your phone:

2. Tap Add a new user
You should receive your registration codes for new year 7s towards the end of the Summer Term when they are in year 6. Please email transition@bulmershe.wokingham.sch.uk if you have not received this by mid July.
Tips for using sQuid for Lunch Money
We have been advised to let families know that sometimes it can take hours for money to reach students’ sQuid accounts and so, if you can, please try to add money to children’s accounts the day before so that it’s there for them to use the following lunch time. School are unable to speed up the transfer of money to sQuid accounts, so if you are finding it’s taking too long to reach your child’s account please contact sQuid directly: customerservice@squidcard.com
DID YOU KNOW? There is a feature in sQuid where you can set up “Automatic top ups” – this means when a child’s lunch account reaches a certain level, sQuid will debit a defined top up amount automatically.
Families might also like to know there is an ability to add a daily limit on student accounts, so you can manage how much they spend when in school… which might be helpful when setting a weekly budget. If you would like to apply a cap to your child’s account please email reception@bulmershe.wokingham.sch.uk and they can set this up for you.
We understand that the cost of living is high at the moment, and so we want to help as many families as possible. If you are unemployed or on benefits, please sign up for Free School Meals – not only will this help you, but it helps the school too.
